Chinese astrology practitioners have been predicting that Angelica Panganiban and Derek Ramsay would encounter problems in their relationship this 2011. Apparently, Derek, whose birth date falls under the Year of The Goat, would often be surrounded by friends of the opposite sex which may possibly lead to temptation on his end. But Angelica merely brushed off such reports, saying that she’s already used to the intrigues about her relationship with Derek. “Hindi, kasi lagi naman kami prine-predict na ganon. Tsaka marami talaga lumalapit sa kanya. Sa katawan ba naman niya,” she stated during the premiere night of Bulong last February 1.Angelica further explained that she doesn’t believe in horoscopes either. “Hindi rin naman kasi ako naniniwala kapag may nagsasabi na mamalasin ka, mag-ingat ka, ayoko ng ganon. Nire-reject ko yung mga ganong klaseng vibes. Gusto ko happy happy lang, masaya lang lahat.”
People noticed Derek’s absence at the premiere especially because there were lots of celebrity couples who graced the event. Apparently, he couldn’t make it because he got held up in an emergency meeting. “Slight lang [ako nagtampo], pero nag-move on na ako kaagad. Nagkausap naman kami at sinabi ko sa kanya na i-date niya ko bukas at manuod kami ng Bulong. At sabi niya, ’Okay! Okay!’ Sabi ko, 'Sabi mo yan ha? Sige bati na tayo.' So nagbati naman kami kaagad. Sobrang dali ko kayang kausap. Kaya dead na dead sa akin yun e.”
When asked about their plans for Valentine’s Day, Angelica said that their priority is to organize a charity activity rather than the usual romantic date between couples. “Wala, kasi ‘pag ganun nag-cha-charity works kami sa mga bata. Kasi lahat ng tao nagde-date, so kami sine-share na lang naming yung blessings na natanggap namin sa ibang tao. Since nung naging kami, palagi na namin yung ginagawa. I think, third year na yata namin yun tradition na ito.”
